Wild Rivers Plein Air Event

Just home from an amazing, well organized event in Red River NM. The Rio Grand Gorge is an amazing place to paint. We got papers stamped and were off! I decided to drive all the way to the end and look back up into the canyon for my first painting. I stopped and took additional pictures for future studio paintings. 

The second day a group painted at the St. Anthony's Historic Church in Questa. The third day I painted in the town of Red River. The ski lift and the Alpine Lodge were my focal points. Then in the afternoon I moved across the street and looked back and painted the Sitzmark Lodge. To great architectural subjects with great shadows. 

Paintings were turned in and the Opening Reception was Saturday July 20th from 3 - 5 PM. 80 artists entered. 384 people attended. 21 paintings sold and I sold 2! Lots of new friends, Memories and stories to share! Great job to all who organized the event!
